Many U.S. Olympians are using the best training design on the web

Individual plan based on your current condition, goal, background, and many other parameters

The Seasonal Training Calculator includes:

  • Workload Design in a Season

  • Test Sets Calculation in a Season

  • Time Trials Calculation in a Season

Seasonal Training Calculator

Seasonal training includes two phases - preparation and competition (taper). Duration of the preparation phase usually is twice as long than the competition (taper) phase, depending on the age, sport, and event of the athlete. Workload Design Calculator designs workload in preparation and competition (taper) phases.

Seasonal training depends on several individual factors: age, gender, sport, event, duration of season, supposed workload volume, current condition, workload volumes and best performances in last season, and goal times. For younger athletes, the preparation and competition (taper) phases should be shorter because of faster adaptation and quicker recovery.

The main purpose of the Preparation Phase is accumulation of potential in different energetic supply zones. Athletes during the preparation phase should see an increase in work capacity within each intensity zone. For an optimal increase of work capacity, a training strategy should be selected.

The Seasonal Training Calculator will calculate individual progression of test sets during the preparation and competition phase based on athlete's condition and goal at the end of season. Coaches (athletes) can manage individual workload volume (increase or reduce) according to each of the test sets. If the progression in a test sets is slower than calculated, the coach should analyze the conditioning of the athlete. Test sets depend on age, sport, event, and phase of season.

Time trials are important for evaluating the current condition of athletes during a season. Time trials should correspond to the event of athletes. The Seasonal Training Calculator calculates weekly progression of time trials for all distances during the preparation and competition phase. Results are dependent on the current condition and goal of the athlete. Coaches (athletes) can manage individual workload volume (increase or reduce) according to the time trials. If time trials don’t correspond to goal times, coaches can change the workload volume.
